Mark your calendars! Bust the Winter Blues Festival will be here before you know it. Plans are currently underway for an exciting and fun-filled winter festival to take place on the weekend of February 9, 10, 11, 2006. Local committee members are currently busy organizing a variety of winter activities suitable for all ages Ð from children to seniors. The festival will kick off the evening of Friday, February 9, with Opening Ceremonies and will conclude Sunday, February 11 with the Pluck a Duck Draw. Many favorites will be back such as the MuchMusic Teen Dance, Seniors Card Tournament, Family Curling Bonspiel, Family Sliding Party, Fishing Derby and Border Explorers Poker Rally. And, several new ideas are currently being explored such as a Family Mardi Gras Dance, a beard growing and hairy leg contest, and an indoor garage sale. The Bust the Winter Blues Festival is gearing up to be a weekend of winter fun that you won't want to miss. So, mark your calendars and don't get too comfortable on the couch this winter.
