Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Evil Marsupials took the Cash Tournament by storm this past weekend as the came out on top over the Paperworks Pounds from The Pas. Morning Wood picked up first place in the B-Side championship over the local Super Troopers. All in all, eleven teams participated in the Flin Flon Creighton Slo Pitch League tournament. Games were played Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday between the Creighton and Centoba diamonds. The weather was nearly perfect _ though some thought a little too warm at times Ê_ aside from the odd rain shower. But that's nothing new when it comes to ball tournaments in Flin Flon. With money on the line for the winning teams, umpires were called in to watch games. Some had one ump; others used base umps as well. There were some hard losses, some well deserved wins, and some tough luck with a few teams losing out by only a run or two. The Flin Flon Creighton Slo Pitch League resumed regular play Monday as games were back at the Creighton and Centoba diamonds as well as Lakeside. The League plays into August with roughly 17 teams involved.
