Goaltender Adam Beukeboom made 36 saves to earn his second shutout in as many games as the Flin Flon Bombers skated to a 4-0 win over the league-leading Kindersley Klippers on Wednesday.
Proving that last Saturday’s 7-0 victory over the Viterra Division-leading Melville Millionaires wasn’t a fluke, Beukeboom and the Bombers followed it up with another solid effort.
The home ice victory improved Flin Flon’s winning streak to three games, with each win coming against a different division leader.
Austin Calladine scored twice to lead the team offensively. Tanner Lishchynsky and Michael Knaub had the other goals.
Shots on net were 44-36 in favour of Flin Flon.
The Bombers haven’t allowed a goal in 147:40, which was midway through their 3-2 win over the Melfort Mustangs on Nov. 12.
“Beukeboom looks very confident,” said head coach Mike Reagan. “Our defensive core has played great in front of him. I’m very happy with what I’ve seen so far.”
Next up the Bombers will travel to Melville tomorrow for a rematch of last week’s 7-0 pounding of the Millionaires. They will be in Nipawin on Sunday before returning home for a pair of games next weekend.
