Seven SJHL players and one coach have been named to the Canada West camp by Hockey Canada. Representatives from the SJHL will include Rylan Parenteau, of the Weyburn Red Wings; Kalium Gervais, of the Yorkton Terriers; Owen LeClare, of the La Ronge Ice Wolves; Jake McMillen, of the Battlefords North Stars; T.J. Reeve, of the Melville Millionaires; Ian Williams, of the Notre Dame Hounds; and Blake Young, of the Battlefords North Stars. Yorkton Terriers coach Trent Cassan has been named as an Assistant Coach alongside Ryan Smith of the MJHL and head coach Jason McKee of the AJHL. Hockey Canada has selected 66 players to attend the Canada West Selection camp to prepare for the 2013 World Junior A Challenge, in Yarmouth, NS in early November. The camp starts Saturday and will carry through until Wednesday, in Calgary. The selected players will compete on four teams _ Black, Gold, Red, and White _ and will play six intrasquad games as well as practices. 'There is tremendous talent in Canada's five western Junior A leagues, and it was a challenge to select only 66 to invite,' head coach McKee said in a Canada West Selection Camp media release. 'We're excited for the potential of this group and we can't wait to get on the ice in Calgary and chose the 22 who will wear the red and white in Yarmouth.'
