The Flin Flon District Health Council, NOR-MAN Regional Health Authority, in partnership with Flin Flon Parks and Recreation, will put on a Community Fun Health Fair next Tuesday, October 16, at the R.H Channing Auditorium. The Health Fair, the third one hosted by the Flin Flon District Health Council, will start at 3 p.m. and run until 7 p.m. The fair will include face painting, a fish pond, tours of the Flin Flon fire trucks, a Teddy Bear Clinic, some SPCA animals up for adoption, balloon animals and local entertainment. Hoop dancers, along with some local hip hop dancers, will be among those providing the entertainment. Aside from the entertainment, displays will be set up for people to look at on everything from reflexology, Body Talk, MB Telehealth and heart health. The NRHA's Christa McIntyre says the focus of the event is to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage individuals to an take an active role in their health care. Along with the healthy lifestyle, she says it's important community members are aware of their community resources and local community leaders. The health fair will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about the local resources and programs in their community as well as provide an opportunity for people to access important health information. The Community Fun Health Fair is free for everyone, "with something for everyone," says McIntyre. Information, along with activities and displays, will be for both children and seniors and everyone in-between.
