In preparation to help minor hockey around the world, The Hockey Source alongside contest sponsors The Hockey News and Mullins Sports are inviting children, teenagers and adults to design an original jersey that will be worn by the players from different communities who will appear on the weekly TV show, "The Hockey Source". Based on the vision of The Hockey Source's executive producer, KevinHuhn, to provide valuable information about minor hockey to people, "it was only fitting to allow those in minor hockey to help us create the look for our 'On-Ice' segment", says Kevin. "Having The Hockey News sponsor this contest allows us to fulfill our purpose to better the game by bettering the people", adds Kevin. "The Hockey News is an icon in hockey when it comes to providing information about the game." One winner will be chosen from all submissions. Apart from the thrill of seeing players appear on the TV show wearing his or her design, the winner will also receive a framed copy of the winning custom-made jersey, and a gift package from The Hockey News, which will include a one year subscription to The Hockey News magazine. The Hockey Source, in collaboration with Mullins Sports will also give the winner a choice of one pair of skates up to a value of $500 Canadian. Participants can be of any age. All entries must reflect The Hockey Source logo, colors and the STOP patch. To become eligible, participants must visit www.thehockeysource.tv to download the contest-specific jersey template. All completed templates must then be mailed back to The Hockey Source's office where a panel of appointed officials will choose the winner. Jersey design entries will be accepted from September 16th until December 15th, 2004.
