"We were god awful in our own end," says Dustin Ernest, the Flin Flon Bombers defense coach, days after their loss to Nipawin. On Monday, the coaching staff worked the players in the defensive zone to erase bad habits the players have. Ernest says the coaches want the players battling more on the even-strength plays and having more aggression, which they lacked against Nipawin. "Today practice was better," Ernest noted. He added that the young guys have played hesitantly and the coaches want them to be physical and aggressive. "We want guys to drive players in the glass," says Ernest. The coaches realize the rookie players will make mistakes as they make the transition to learning the Junior 'A' game and the physical aspect that comes with it. With the improvements needed, the belief is that the Bombers can turn it around. It simply comes down to a little something called chemistry.
