As of May 23, Aimee Deans, with the City of Flin Flon, has moved from being the part-time Special Events Coordinator to the full-time Recreation Programmer. Deans, who was in charge of events like the Zoo Hay Dayz, is now taking on more staff and facilities, as she says. ÒItÕs a big change,Ó she says. ÒItÕs going to be very busy and challenging.Ó Deans will essentially taking over from where Heather Todoschuk left off, as far as the non-aquactic activities go. The new Rec ProgrammerÕs name will be associated with events like adult volleyball and badminton, along with first aid training. Ò(IÕm) excited about (my) new job and am welcome to any changes as well,Ó says Deans. Recreation Director Brenda Russell says she feels Deans will do a great job. ÒI think sheÕs going to do an exceptional job..with her skills and knowledge of the community, and her enthusiasm and commitment,Ó says Russell. Both Deans and Russell agreed the days would be easier for the new programmer. ÒHer duties are more diversified,Ó says Russell. ÒThey range from duties that require attention at the pool as well as duties associated with recreation programming. ÒHer day will be to keep the people in the community busy and active.Ó
