There are many bonspiels and playdowns coming up. The weekend of January 10 will feature the Business Men's Bonspiel at Willowpark. Then from January 15 to 18 the Men's Zones playoffs will take place at Willowpark. This includes The Pas, Snow Lake and Flin Flon. For further information, call Blaine Gogal at 687-3361. The local Seniors Bonspiel will be held in Flin Flon January 23 to 25, depending on the entries. The sheets should be up at the curling rinks soon. Don't forget to put your name down. The men and the women's games will be going on at the same time. The rinks are all drawn out of a hat. This bonspiel is for people 50-plus and it is a lot of fun. People get to curl with other people who they probably would never have otherwise curled with. On January 30 to February 1 the Credit Union Masters will be played off. This is for curlers 60 years and older. The winner will go on to play at the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg February 26 to March 1. For further information please call Jack Scott at 687-6744. In Winnipeg, the Terry Needham team from The Pas is representing this area in the Strathcona Senior Men's. The curling will start on January 8 through the 12. Good luck to the Needham team! In Killarney on February 15 to 19, the Ann Wiebe team from Flin Flon will be representing the Golden Gals. The rink has Sheila Adams skipping with Leona Lundgren playing third, Sheila Sproxton and Norma Barr. The spare will be Betty Fehr. Ann Wiebe is unable to curl because she will be in sunny Australia.
