Packing their brooms, sliders and stop watches, four girls from Hapnot Collegiate will be making the trek to Churchill for the curling zones in two weeks. Skip Jenna Klause, Third Cheyanne Hvidsten, Second Kallia Martin and Lead Lindsay Jackson will be heading up with coach Deb McNiell for the Zone 11 challenge. This is the first team the school has sent in the last four years, so the girls are hoping to start something new this year. As for getting the team going, it was all on the shoulders of the girls, as they approached McNiell with the idea of forming a team. And the rest is history, or so they say. As for their skill level, the girls have picked up a thing or two as they also curl in the ladies league at the Uptown Curling Club.
