The costuming was very well done and the skating skills were an example of many hours of practicing. The program began with Stacey Becker singing The Circle of Life dressed as an African tribal Queen. The program moved along fairly quickly with some solo skaters such as Heather Bergin as Scar and Amanda Hill as Simba doing fantastic jobs. Also very noticeable were Jenna Roberts as Shensi, Sarah Stevens as Timone, Jessica Vaillancourt as Pumba, Mikayla Gawiak as Zazu, Courtney Kozak as Mufasa, Annalee Stevens as Nala, Tegan Nordick as Bonzai and Madison Rowe as Ed. The power skating demonstration featured Zachary Garrett, Wesley Gawiak, Steven Robinson and the helpers who also gave a great demonstration were Matt Hill and David Gourlay. There were many excellent performances done by Stage 1 and 2 the Birds: Courtney Howdle, Allie Madarash, Rylan Nivon, Brett Wenger, Erik Dubreuil, Roxann Morisseau, Darwyn Wasylciw, Sasha Jebson, Eric Rutherford, Kari Rutherford, Taylor Oliynyk, and Janelle Wride. Stage 3 and 4 the Bugs: Lucretia Benko, Christopher Benko, Caillie Church, Chris Caba, Alex Morisseau, Nicholas Martin, Lana LeClerc, Nikki Madarash, Caitlin Bradt, Fawn Rothlander and Monique Wall. Stage 5 the Animals were: Megan Yaworski, Janelle Dion, Kallia Martin, Melissa Bolme, Melissa Wasylciw, Sara Kozak, Morgan Jebsen and Ainsley McIntosh. Stage 6 and 7 were the Lionesses: Candace Lesage, Dayle Nivon, Morgan Wenger and Kelsey Vliegenthart. In Power 1 were: Riley McDonald, Shania Nordick, Jody Tait, Evan Linnick, Max LeClerc, Connor Henderson, Riley Scott and Mason Antoniuk. Power 2 and Advanced were: Zachary Garrett, Wesley Gawiak, Steven Robinson and the helpers were David Gourlay and Matt Hill. All of these skaters did an excellent job. The coaches Rhonda Chaisson and Heather Ellingson should be very proud of the kids and the packed crowd both nights really enjoyed the kid's efforts. Some awards were handed out after the performance. Heather Bergin won the Skater's Choice Award, voted on by her peers. Steven Robinson was presented with a special Power Skating Award for completing all six levels. Jody Tait won the CanPowerSkate Skater of the Year Award. Meagan Yaworski and Caitlin Bradt won the Spirit of Skating Award. Dayle Nivon won the CanSkate Skater of the Year Award.
