As schools are back in session from the Christmas break, Creighton Community School has a few things up its sleeve for the upcoming month. The Sr Girls basketball team will be traveling to The Pas this weekend for a tournament. Every Wednesday there will be a Road Hockey Tournament from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the schoolÕs gym. Creighton School will be hosting a Gang Awareness Workshop, which will be put on by Constable Christina Wilder of the Creighton RCMP next Tuesday. A babysitting course is being held at the Creighton Fire Hall on Saturday, January 19 at 9:00 a.m. For more information contact Town of Creighton Recreation Director Channa Senyk at 688-8254. The workshop will discuss topics such as what a gang is, how they recruit, signs to watch for and where to go for help. The workshop is free and open to all parents, community members and school staff. With recycling on everyoneÕs mind, the school has decided to hold another class to show people how to crochet floor mats out of plastic bags. Students are asked to bring in their plastic grocery bags to make these useful mats. A parent class will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 7 p.m. Anyone interested is asked to call Jane at 688-7409. And the annual Family Dance will be held on February 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This yearÕs theme is, ÒYou are my sweetheart.Ó
