CrawfordÕs history with the NHL dates back to 1981 when he began his first season with Vancouver, where he played the next six seasons. Following his retirement as an NHL player, Crawford immediately began coaching with the OHL, followed by the AHL, and in 1994 began his career as an NHL head coach with the Quebec Nordiques. That same year, Crawford became the youngest recipient of the Jack Adams Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL coach of the year. This prosperity continued following the teamÕs move to Colorado when he guided the Avalanche to the 1996 Stanley Cup. The Bellville, Ontario, native went on to join the Vancouver Canucks in 1999 and over the course of the next seven seasons became the franchiseÕs all-time leader in regular season wins. Most recently Crawford spent the past two seasons behind the bench of the Los Angeles Kings. In 987 career games as a head coach in the NHL, Crawford has garnered a .518 winning percentage and made the playoffs eight times.
