Flin Flon Bomber Chrystopher Collin is quickly making a name for himself.

The rookie forward has been named to Team West for the upcoming CJHL Top Prospects Game, a nationwide showcase attended by NHL and NCAA personnel.

Collin is one of only two SJHL players named to Team West – the other being Humboldt Bronco goalie Jacob Wassermann.

Collin is coming off winning a gold medal at the World Junior A Challenge, playing with Team Canada West. Collin and Bomber head coach and GM Mike Reagan both earned gold medals at the event, which ended with a 5-1 Canada West win.

Collin played in all five of the team’s games, but did not score a point.

Several of Collin’s teammates from the Canada West group appear on the roster, including defensemen Jonathan Tychonick and Jacob Bernard-Docker and forwards Angus Crookshank, Ethan de Jong, Corey Andonovski and Riese Gaber.

Collin has 23 points in 24 games as a rookie with the Bombers, leading his team and all SJHL rookies with 14 goals scored.

NHL Central Scouting chose the 40 players selected for the game. In total, the 40 players are considered to be among the top junior A prospects in this year’s upcoming NHL draft.

Team West won last year’s game, played in Cornwall ON.

The Top Prospects game will be played in Mississauga, Ont. on Jan. 23.
