Cold temps cancel Saskatchewan provincial cross-country ski races in Flin Flon

Cold temperatures have put a stop to the races that were to be held Saturday for the Saskatchewan Provincial Championship cross-country ski races.

Cold temperatures have put a stop to the races that were to be held Saturday for the Saskatchewan Provincial Championship cross-country ski races.

Flin Flon Ski Club officials decided Wednesday that Saturday’s forecast of -22 and expected high winds was too cold for skiers to participate in the Classic Technique races.

Sunday’s Free Technique races will still be held at the same starting time with a projected forecast of -11.

Saturday evening’s banquet will still be held at its scheduled time.

Weather cancellations must be made prior to the events as the majority of the participants travel from various parts of Saskatchewan to compete.
