Weyburn Red Wings Head Coach Dwight McMillan has entered the realms of coaching immortality. Sunday's 6-0 win over the Melfort Mustangs gives McMillan 899 victories for his career. Dwight reached 900 wins on Sunday with a 5-3 win over the Melville Millionaires. That puts him third on the all time list of junior coaching wins behind Bert Templeton who ended his career with 907 wins and Brian Kilrea of the Ottawa 67's. Kilrea won his 1,000th game last March. McMillan is in his 25th full season with the Wings and has won 40 or more games in a season on nine different occasions. He has won six SJHL (MemberCARE Cup) championships. McMillan's 2003-04 Red Wings are currently in second place in the Sherwood Conference with 69 points, one point behind the Melville Millionaires who have 70 points. McMillan's club figures to be a contender in 2004-05 as well with the Royal Bank Cup tournament slated for Weyburn.
