Bill Muluta is at a loss for words to describe how he feels about being inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame. The Flin Flon native will enter the Hall later this year in honour of his work as a coach with the Flin Flon Minor Hockey League. "I don't know, I have mixed feelings," says Muluta. "I don't know what to expect." And he adds, "I'm very proud and humble, but I don't know how I feel." "I've been in hockey now for 42 years. I started coaching in 1958 in the Flin Flon MHL," he says, adding that "I just loved it." Muluta began his coaching career by taking on the Midget Bombers. "I coached them for a number of years," says the 13-year scouting veteran. Muluta later moved on to Rochester, New York, to be the assistant coach of a high school team. "I did it and still do it for the love of the game," says Muluta. After coaching, Muluta moved on to become a hockey scout. "After being involved with hockey for so many years, it just gets into your blood," he says. And Muluta says he doesn't see stopping his work anytime soon. "As long as my health will let me do it, I'll be out there," he says. Muluta's induction ceremony will take place October 6 in Winnipeg. "It's just so humbling and I'm very proud to be apart of this," he says. And he adds, "Both those emotions just run through you at the same time." Muluta spends his summers in Denare Beach and winters scouting out potential players in Brandon. But he says he will always call Flin Flon home. Muluta says he's had a "positive experience as far as hockey goes," and he "wouldn't change a thing."
