While it is not my job to make the Flin Flon Bombers look good, I don't go out of my way to make them look bad, either. People in Flin Flon take a lot of pride in the Bombers. When the efforts of the team don't reflect the hardworking attributes of a mining town, it's hard on everyone, from the players to the season ticket holders that have been faithfully coming to games through the good times and the bad. As a reporter, these last four seasons have been tough. You try to find positives when there aren't many to be found. The rest of the time, you call it as you see it, the same as the other 1,400 fans/critics that support the Bombers. Unfortunately, I'm only human, and mistakes are going to be made, as was the case in Monday's article "Mustangs out score Bombers 10-3". In the story, I mentioned that Joey Moggach left the ice for the second time in a fit with 30 seconds remaining, which is true, as anyone in attendance at Saturday's game will remember. However, I also stated that had the Bombers tied the game and reached overtime, Moggach would have been able to return to the game, which was not the case. Moggach's penalty with 30 seconds remaining was his third stick infraction of the game (his third slashing penalty), which results in a 'game ejection', not a misconduct. Moggach did not leave the ice on his own accord, he was ejected from the game and would not have been able to return to the ice. Although losing one of the top offensive players on the team with time running out did not help the Bombers, I'm sure Joey would never intentionally do anything to hurt the team. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
