With the facility closed to the public, workers are diving into maintenance projects at the Flin Flon Aqua Centre. The pool has been drained to allow contractors to patch areas of the basin that have worn with time. Maintenance work involving the pool filters and pumps is also taking place. Aqua Centre staff are doing their part by painting certain areas of the building. Most prominent is the lobby, whose green tone will be replaced with yellow. Director of Recreation Brenda Russell hopes to see swimmers back in the water sometime next week. The work began a week ago. She said staff are working hard to improve the look of the pool and showing pride for the building.
