Submitted by SJHL The University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds are the CIS Mens Hockey champions after a 4-0 win over the McGill Redmen in the championship final, played in Fredricton. The Varsity Reds have an SJHL flavour to their team as athletics director Kevin Dickie was a former coach of the Melfort Mustangs, head coach Gardiner MacDougall used to serve in the same position with the now defunct Lebret Eagles and one player Ð Dion Campbell played with the Melville Million-aires. The Redmen also featured two players in their lineup that played for the La Ronge Ice Wolves. They are forwards Evan Fossen and Daniel Conacher.
