The Flin Flon Bombers have traded 1989 G Carsen Chubak (Prince Albert SK) to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL) in exchange for 1990 F Sam Mitchell (Osoyoos BC). Chubak played one game for the Bombers this season after recording a 16-10-0-and-1 record with a 3.02-GAA and .891-SPCT as a rookie last year. However, with two veteran goalies on the roster, Chubak asked for a move to a different province so that he could experience a lifestyle change as he has spent his entire life, relatively, close to his home. In Mitchell, the Bombers get a player with offensive potential despite his total of one goal and one assist in 10 games. As a 17-year-old last year, Mitchell tallied 12 goals and 14 assists in 57 games. ÒSam is a player who may end up being similar to Cole Wilson,Ó says Head Coach Mike Reagan. ÒI think that, right away, Sam can come in and be a gritty guy who will also contribute some offense.Ó
