ItÕs that time of year again Ð to be getting into the Christmas spirit. With all of the activities going on with the Town of Creighton this month, it will be hard not to be in the mood. So far, November has been a steady month for Recreation Director Channa Senyk, and itÕs just going to get busier as the countdown to Christmas begins. A few activities have been planned to get everyone ready for the season. Similar to last year, Senyk will be hosting a childrenÕs Christmas party as well as a Christmas craft day. For this yearÕs party, which will be held at the Creighton Community Hall on November 28, children will play games, have some hot dogs and hot chocolate, and watch a movie before the guest of honour arrives. In his red hat, red coat and big black boots, Santa Claus himself will be at the party to see all of the good little boys and girls. Before the party there will be a tree lighting ceremony. Everyone will be gathering at the Creighton Tourism Office to see the lights lit. And once those colourful bulbs have been lit, they will stay on for the season. Once the lights are on the party begins. If Santa isnÕt enough to get the children excited for Christmas, the craft party sure will be. Last year the party was at the Creighton Fire Hall, but to give everyone a bit more room, things have been moved over to the Creighton Sportex, in the curling rink lobby. The craft day, December 10, is aimed at those children ages six and older, as glue guns are going to be used. The Town of Creighton and Creighton Community School are teaming up for this project, to help the students make holiday inspired crafts and decorations. Also on the agenda for the season, this one put on by CADAC Out-Patient Centre, is the Festival of Trees. Last year, the Sportex was filled with decorated trees, Christmas baking and crafts to be auctioned off. This yearÕs event gets underway on November 28, the same day as the childrenÕs Christmas party, and continues through to the next day. And to continue on with the seasonÕs themes, there will be a Skate with Santa as well as a seniorÕs Christmas party on December 14. For more information, contact Channa Senyk at 688-8254.
