Submitted by SJHL With the NHL down to its final four, the SJHL could see another player or coach that toiled in the league getting his name on the Stanley Cup. Two members of the Tampa Bay Lightning and San Jose coach Todd McLellan have all spent time in the SJHL. McLellan spent time behind the bench of the Battlefords Stars in 1993 serving as head coach before moving on to the WHL's Swift Current Broncos. The two players are Tampa forward Teddy Purcell and defenceman Brett Clark. Purcell, a 25 year old winger from Newfoundland, spent the 2003-2004 season in Notre Dame where he had 46 points in 51 games. Purcell has a goal and 10 assists in the playoffs in 11 games to go along with a regular season in which he had 17 goals and 51 points in 81 games. Clark, who is 34 and comes from Wapella, spent the 1994-95 season in Melville where he had 51 points in 62 games. McLellan, Purcell and Clark will be trying to add their name to other SJHL alumni such as Rod Brind'Amour, Brad Richards and Jordan Hendry to have their name inscribed on the Stanley Cup. 5/18/2011
