Andy Chaisson was the lucky winner of The Reminder's Fishing Contest this year. Chaisson's ballot was chosen at this year's Flin Flon Trout Festival celebrations. To help celebrate the city's 80th birthday, the Fishing Contest _ and similar contests _ had their winners chosen. The Reminder's Karen MacKinnon held the box filled with names as Mayor Alan McLauchlan of The Pas chose Chaisson's ballot. A little poke went to The Pas as they did better than Flin Flon in the Ultimate Fishing Town online contest earlier this year. Chaisson was the lucky winner of the Fishing Contest package valued at over $,1000. He received a deli meat pack from Eddie's Family Foods, a Helly Hansen Rain Pack from Kleen-All, and a grocery gift card from North of 53 Consumers Co-op. Also included in the winning package is a barbecue from Stittco Energy, fishing gear from The Reminder, a fire extinguisher and tote bag from The Standard Insurance, a service credit from Northland Ford, a gift card from Walmart, and a gas card from Gas Bar. Entries to this year's Fishing Contest were to be submitted by June 24 with the draw being held June 28.
