Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Flin Flon's coveted Centaloppet Cup went to eight-year-old Caleb Baynton this year. Paige Pomarenski and Tara Whitbread picked up second and third place, with corrected times, for the 38th Annual Centaloppet. Fifty-seven skiers took off from the Beaver Pond at the Flin Flon Ski Club chalet on Sunday afternoon. March 10. That 'equals our best turnout in recent years,' Dave Price of the Flin Flon Ski Club said in an e-mail. Close to ideal weather conditions and a fast track made for a great day of skiing. Skiers made they way around the 3.4-kilometre trail. Flin Flon racer Nick Martin was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 10:42. Through a handicapping system, all skiers are eligible to win the Centaloppet Cup. The 2012-13 title went to Caleb. 'Everybody had a great time,' Price said. Centaloppet founder Ivor Hedman enjoyed the afternoon at the Chalet.
