Residents of the Flin Flon area raised $2,153 through the Purina Walk for Dog Guides this past Sunday. Roughly 30 dogs were on hand at the Creighton Sportex as residents helped to raise money for guide dogs. Through the Flin Flon Lion's Club MaryAnne Playford, of Cranberry Portage, received half the funding for her hearing dog guide, Quincy. Though Quincy didn't come from the Purina Walk for Dog Guides, he and Playford were on hand to show residents where their money goes, for others in need. It was the fifth event held in the area, but it was the 25th annual event nationwide.
