Canoe races raise $800 to boost recycling

This year’s Voyageur Challenge was won by a 10-person team from the Flin Flon School Division followed closely by the Pedwells and Company and the Phantom Lake Interloafers.  

Eight teams raised over $800 for the Recycling Centre in this  fundraising event.

The two person canoeing events were very well attended and the results were as follows:

Men’s Open (10 teams): first, Gerald Kinsley and Scott Kennedy; second,  Jace Anderson and Dean Grove; third,  Dean Grindle and Kevin Pedwell; fourth, Terry Kaduchuk and Thomas Stanley-Jones.

Women’s Open  (five teams): first,  Jessie and Jan Modler; second,  Marlene Young and Holly Lightfoot; third,  Colleen and Laura Kennedy; fourth,  Tori Pedwell and  Patty Evans.

Mixed Open (13 teams): first,  Dean Grindle and Jessie Campbell; second,  Dave and Sara Lynne Koop; third, Terry Kaduchuk and Marlene Young; fourth,  Colleen Kennedy and Gerry Kinsley.

Under 18  (seven teams): first, Tori Pedwell and Mike Manns; second,  William and Robert O’Brien; third,  Braydon Abbott and Graydon Bedford; fourth,  Bryson and Harrison Dumas.
