As part of the festivities surrounding each Flin Flon Bomber home game, Canadian Tire has been dressing a minor hockey player for the Seventh Man Contest. Canadian Tire stores across the country do similar contests in Western Hockey League cities, and the local store decided to try the idea here to promote minor hockey in Flin Flon. Kids registered in minor hockey can enter their name into the Seventh Man draw box at the Canadian Tire store, and each home game, a new name is drawn. The lucky winner gets a chance to skate on the ice with the Bombers and stand on the blue line for O'Canada. After the game, the kids have a chance to tour the Bomber dressing room and get autographs. "It's very emotional for an eight year old kid going out there and skating with the big guys," said Tim Coutts, Flin Flon Bomber marketing director. "The players are good with it. It has worked out really well so far." As of Saturday's home game, Aaron Beauchamp, Austin Zimmer, Justin Donaghy, Dillon Schiltroth, Seth Fernandes and Melissa Wasylciw have been the lucky winners.
