As of Friday morning, Canada was tied in fourth place of the 2010 Winter Olympic medal order with seven medals to their name. Earning from different sports, Team Canada pulled through and earned three gold, three silver and one bronze medal. Claiming the other fourth place position was France Ð who had two gold, one silver and four bronze. The United States of America led the pack with 18 medals, followed by Germany with 11 and Norway with eight. Finland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Croatia, Slovenia and Estonia wrapped up the bottom of the standings with one medal each. Christine Nesbitt earned the most recent gold medal, as of press time, in speed skating Ð Ladies' 1000 m while fellow Canadian Maelle Ricker earned gold as well for her efforts in snow boarding Ð Ladies Snowboard Cross. Earning the first gold medal for Canada was Alexandre Bilodeau in freestyle skiing Ð Men's Moguls. Earning silver medals were Marianne St-Gelans in short track speed skating Ð Ladies' 500 m, Mike Robertson for snow boarding Ð Men's Snowboard Cross and Jennifer Heil for freestyle skiing Ð Ladies' Moguls. Earning the lone bronze was Kristina Groves for speed skating Ð Ladies' 3000 m. Olympic events continue in Vancouver until next weekend.
