Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Canadians watched with pride in both London and all across our Nation as Rosie MacLennan received her Gold medal in Women's Trampoline. MacLennan picked up the first Gold medal as of Tuesday morning for Canada. Competing hard, MacLennan's Gold is one of 10 medals earned by the end of the weekend for Canada. Our Olympians have received six Bronze, three Silver, and one Gold medal with four more days of competition remaining. Heading into the weekend, seven medals were in Canada's possession. Over the course of the long weekend, Canada watched as Dylan Armstrong of Kamloops, B.C., and Jessica Zelinka of London, Ont., competed in athletics, Jason Burnett of Etobicoke, Ont., was on the trampoline, Sinead Russell of Burlington, Ont., was in the pool, Christine Sinclair of Burnaby, B.C., helped the women's soccer team, Dominique Pegg of Sarnia, Ont., was back on the floor for an artistic gymnastics routine and Martha McCabe of Toronto pushed herself in the pool. Canadians everywhere were upset Monday as the women's soccer team was robbed by referee Christina Pedersen of Norway. Canada took the lead three times throughout the match as Christine Sinclair added three goals to the final score of 4-3 in extra time against the USA. The Gold medal went to the USA. 'We feel like we didn't lose, we feel like it was taken from us,' Sinclair was quoted in a blog from Manchester, England. 'It's a shame in a game like that that was so important, the ref decided the result before it started.' Throughout the 2012 London Games, which started July 27, Canada is to compete in 24 sports with 277 athletes. At the age of 15, Victoria Mills is the youngest athlete and competed in artistic gymnastics. Ian Miller, 65, is the eldest Canadian athlete at the 2012 London Games as he competes in the Equestrian events. Today, Canadian athletes will compete in athletics, canoeing, and diving.
