Taking the lead early on, Canada went on to win their fifth consecutive gold medal with a 5-1 win over Sweden Monday night. Sweden and Canada had been playing for a matter of 40 seconds in the final game of the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championships before P.K Subban made his way to the back of the net on a power play. Five goals later and Canada was hoisting the cup once again Ð something the team says never gets old. A sea of red and white took over the Civic Centre in Ottawa as chants of "Canada" made it around the rink from the more than 20,200 people in attendance. In the first minute of the third period, Team Canada had a three-goal advantage before the Swedes got one past goalie Dustin Tokarski to break his shutout. With play hitting the two minute mark on the clock, the crowd got louder Ð and even more so when Team Canada scored two empty net goals for the win. Having Tokarski was a last minute decision from bench boss Pat Quinn, but it turned out to be the right choice for the team. The netmminder says when it comes to high pressure games, it comes down to believing in yourself. "It's all about battling, people can put you down and say you're not good enough but if you believe in yourself you can do anything," the 2008 Memorial Cup MVP champion told TSN.
