With 14 Gold medals to their name, Canada broke the record for having the most Gold for one country during the Winter Olympics. Heading into the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, a Canadian had never won a Gold medal on home soil Ð until Alexandre Bilodeau came along in the Freestyle Moguls and took first place. Following suit with Bilodeau were 14 others Ð a world record for most Gold medals to one country. Canada cleaned up with another seven silver and five bronze medals Ð placing them third in the world with a total of 26 medals. Claiming first place was the United States of America with 37. Second place went to Germany with 30 medals.
