A group of Sea and Navy League cadets learned to harness Mother Nature's powers in a sailing exercise over the long weekend. Eleven young cadets took sailing certification training at Big Island, learning skills such as navigation, how to assemble a sailboat and how to turn it upright if it capsizes. "I really think they had a great time," said Joe Buie, a parent volunteer. "It's an experience they normally couldn't do on their own." Cadet instructors from Gimli made the trip north for the exercise, held Saturday and Sunday. For more information on the Sea and Navy League cadets, phone 687-6967.
