ItÕs that time a year again as the temperature drops, so do spirits. Between the Town of Creighton, the City of Flin Flon and Creighton Community School, the Bust The Winter Blues festival is back. For the second year, the committee will be hosting a Hairy Leg and Beard Growing Contest. And itÕs just as it sounds, says the CityÕs Aimee Deans. Participants were shaved on Saturday at NU-U Hair Care and the judging will be on February 8 at the opening ceremonies for the festival, says Deans. ÒWe measure with a ruler and the longest piece of hair wins,Ó she says. Both men and women were eligible to enter. ÒLast year the participants all had fun, so weÕre hoping they spread the word,Ó said Deans earlier last week. Aside from the natural talent of growing hair, the festival will see a number of other activities, from a bunk hockey tournament to a family meet draw. The Centaloppet will be on Ross Lake and there will be a family curling bonspiel at the Willow Park Curling Club. Pluck A Duck will be making its way to the Flin Flon Aqua Centre and the Ski Chalet will be the home to a fun family sliding party.
