Jonathon Naylor Editor The suddenly struggling Flin Flon Bombers dropped their second and third straight games over the weekend, losing twice to the Bruins in Estevan. Defensively weak, the Bruins nevertheless found a way to down the Bombers 4-2 Saturday and 3-0 Sunday to improve their record to .500 this season. Despite outshooting Estevan 35-27, Flin Flon at no point held the lead Saturday, surrendering three even-strength goals and another on the power play. The Bombers' penalty kill was respectable, allowing just one goal on eight chances. The Bombers themselves notched one power play goal on five chances. Scoring for the Bombers were Jesse Myslorek with the man advantage and Landon Hiebert, with Jay Young and Riley Storzuk each picking up a pair of assists. Estevan's win was a team effort as four different Bruins _ Tanner Froese, Josh Jelinski, Matt Brykalluk and Cole Olson _ found the back of the net. Two assists went to Calder Neufeld, with one each going to Ben Johnstone and Tyler Paslawski. Outscored Sunday saw the Bombers outscored 3-0 and outshot 38-30. Giving Andy Desautels the nod in net following Devin Buffalo's loss the prior night, Flin Flon continued to struggle. While the Bombers killed off three penalties, they failed to capitalize on all six of their power play opportunities. Jelinski scored twice and Michael Hengen once en route to the victory. Helpers went to Paslawski, Dominic Perrault and Taylor Reich. Michigan-born Tyler Ross earned both wins _ his first in the SJHL _ manning the Estevan net. The weekend left Flin Flon in third place in the Bauer Conference, just one point ahead of La Ronge as of yesterday morning. That should make for an interesting pair of games this weekend, as Flin Flon hosts La Ronge on Friday before heading to the Ice Wolves' barn on Saturday.
