The Vancouver Canucks acquired former SJHLer Wade Brookbank on Wednesday, as an insurance policy should they need some toughness in the run to the playoffs. The 6'4, 255 lb. native of Lanigan, Saskatchewan, accumulated 330 penalty minutes in 58 games with the Melville Millionaires in the 1997-98 season. He signed with the Ottawa Senators in July of 2001 as a free-agent, and was picked up by Nashville in this year's waiver draft. Brookbank, 26, played in nine games this year with the Predators with no points and 38 penalty minutes. The Canucks have been without an enforcer since losing Darren Langdon in the waiver draft to Montreal.
