Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Having won the Anavet Cup with a Game 7 victory over the Portage Terriers, the Humboldt Broncos are looking ahead. The Broncos captured the coveted series _ played between the top SJHL team and the top MJHL team _ on April 29. Former Flin Flon Bomber Andrew Johnston was big for the Broncos in the final game as he put up two goals. Humboldt's two other goals came from Taylor Johnson and Ryan Marshall. Marshall was named series MVP as he put up six goals and nine points in the seven-game series versus Portage. The Broncos look to continue their success as they host the RBC Cup and welcome not only the Terriers, but the Woodstock Slammers, Penticton Vees, and Soo Thunderbirds. Games got underway Saturday afternoon as the Vees and the Thunderbirds played Game 1. Later that night, the Broncos, took on the Slammers. Watch The Reminder for further coverage of the RBC Cup.
