The Humboldt Broncos, defending SJHL and Royal Bank Cup champions, will be in town for a pair of games this weekend. After losing 12 players from last year's squad, the Broncos have added some firepower and are dominating the Dodge Conference early in the season. They had their way with the La Ronge Ice Wolves at home on Wednesday, and always bring their 'A' game to the Whitney Forum. The Bombers will need big games from their defence and plenty of offence if they want to take any points from the Broncos this weekend. "We're excited about the challenge," said coach Ryan Hoffman. "They handled La Ronge fairly easy, so we're going to have to step it up this weekend. We've had a good week of practice so far, spending a lot of time on special teams, especially our power play. We have to generate a little more offence out of that." Hoffman also expects the team to be a little more disciplined against the Broncos, who bring a lot of weapons on the power play. Simon Nadeau has eight points in three games for the Broncos, most of them coming on the power play. "They've got a few guys we'll have to keep our eye on," said Hoffman. "We'll come out and we'll play hard against them." Derek Blais and Tyler Stinton lead the Bombers with three points each in two games, while Kyle Schroder, Simon McCusker, Stewart Sjoberg, Mark Black and Paul Reimer each have two points. The Bombers are 0-0-2 on the season so far, tying their first two games against La Ronge. The Bombers and Broncos will hook up for games on Friday and Saturday at the Whitney Forum. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
