The Hapnot boys soccer team was in Swan River this past weekend for a pair of games, in their quest to secure a wild card spot in the Provincial championships next month. Dauphin, Swan River and Flin Flon were set to play each other, but Dauphin canceled, forcing Flin Flon and Swan River to play each other twice. Hapnot won both games, improving their record to 4-1-1. Their only loss came against Thompson in the Zone 11 finals, where they lost in an overtime shoot out. Hapnot beat Swan River 2-1 in the first game on goals by Robert Moore and Chuck Perera. In the second game, Jay Best set up Moore in the final minute to give Hapnot a 1-0 win. Matt Kritzer had two solid outings in net for Hapnot. The wins should help Flin Flon's chances in the wild card race, as Swan River was 9-1 before losing to Hapnot twice. The Hapnot girls have already secured a spot at Provincials, winning the Zone 11 banner earlier this month.
