One student from Creighton Community School has gone the distance. Justin Nivon took part in the Fitness for 15 challenge at the school and completed 3.8 marathons. Over the course of six weeks, the students were encouraged to walk the loop at the school to help increase their level of physical activity. Each card a student completed was the equivalent of eight kilometers. Sixty-three students completed at least five cards Ð a minimum of 40 kilometers. Nivon completed 20. One marathon is 42 kilometers Ð or 26.2 miles. In total, 170 students from Creighton Community School participated in the program. Each student earned a certificate, while the students who completed five or more cards earned a medal. Out walking the rest of the students, Nivon was presented with a $100 gift certificate for a new pair of shoes.
