Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Bombers have welcomed back a familiar face as Henry Kosar signed his name on the dotted line for a two-year term as president. Kosar served as team president for two years previous to former president Richard French, who stepped down on June 1. Back in the hot seat, Kosar says he's looking forward to another season with the Bombers. The game "is always changing," says Kosar, but he adds that he has "a good idea of what to expect." Kosar has been part of the Bomber board for 10 years, as he sees it as vital to the community. "It's a passion of mine to be involved," said the energetic president. "I believe it's an important part of the community. "Bomber hockey has been a tradition for many years." Kosar heads the organization with what he calls a strong board at his side. "I'm not naive enough to think that I know everything," he said, commenting on how things are constantly changing. "We have a strong board and I'll rely on them heavily. "We know what has to be done and...I think that will carry us a long way." 'Time to help' After taking two years off from the organization due to his work, Kosar felt it was "time to help the organization and step back in." As for the Bombers organization, Kosar says things are running as they have in the past, but they are always looking for ways to improve. The president says it's often a challenge to come up with new ideas and ways to get fans into the Whitney Forum to watch the games. He says the organization will look at ways to get people interested so they aren't "sick of the same old, same old." "As a board, we have to always keep our ears open," Kosar said, "and find new ways to keep the team afloat." Kosar hopes to see the team reach its goal of selling 800 season tickets. "I hope to see everyone at the rink this winter for an entertaining year of junior hockey in Flin Flon," said the president. The Bomber board for the 2011-12 season consists of: President - Henry Kosar Vice-President - Paul Garrett Secretary-Treasurer - David Brooks Governor - Dan Reagan Director, City of Flin Flon - Tim Babcock Director - Brad Burke Director, HBMS - Ian Cooper Director - Jonathan Cooper Director - Richard French Director - Hugh McIntyre Director - Emily Robinson Director - Stewart Robinson Director - Garry Westhaver Director - Richard Worden The Bombers are still looking for two director positions to be filled Ð one one-year position and one two-year position.
