The comeback is complete.

After going down 3-1 in the SJHL semifinals, the Bombers capped off the series with a 3-0 win to knock out the Nipawin Hawks and advance to the Canalta Cup Finals.

1,352 fans packed the Whitney Forum to watch the game with horns, drums and noisemakers in tow. The pace was torrid from the start, with the Bombers drawing first blood. Nate Hooper fired a shot past Kristian Stead to make the game 1-0 just over four minutes in. Hooper's goal would stand as the series winner.

Jason Lavallee pounced on a rebound to make the game 2-0, with Hooper adding an empty net goal to cap off the game and the series.

Brenden Newton earned his first shutout of the playoffs, making 36 saves. Since coming into the crease to relieve Zac Robidoux in game 4, Newton has played every minute for the Bombers, giving up only two goals over 220 minutes.

Stead played valiantly, making 44 saves for the Hawks, but his effort was not enough.

The Bombers will now face their biggest test yet - the top-ranked Battlefords North Stars. Flin Flon, who finished second in the league standings, will start the series on the road against the Stars, who have not yet lost a game during the playoffs.

A date has not yet been set for the start of the series.
