Bombers stay tied for second in division

The Flin Flon Bombers remain tied for second place in the Sherwood Division after nearly a week off. The Bombers last hosted the Melville Millionaires six days ago, suffering a 5-3 loss.

The home ice loss left the Bombers with 24 points and tied for second spot with the La Ronge Ice Wolves, yesterday morning.
The Nipawin Hawks continue to lead the Sherwood Division with 28 points as the Melfort Mustangs are in the basement with 22 points.
The Ice Wolves were the only Sherwood team to hit the ice last night as they took on the Millionaires.
The Viterra Division saw the Yorkton Terriers take a four-point lead over the Millionaires with 40 points for first place.
Melville’s 36 points left them 10 points ahead of the third-place squad as the Estevan Bruins claimed 26 points.
The Red Wings were in the same position as the Mustangs and the Notre Dame Hounds of the Kramer Division with 22 points.
The Hounds called last place home in the Kramer Division while the Humboldt Broncos earned first spot with 37 points.
The Kindersley Klippers took second place in the conference standings with 34 points as the North Stars sat in between the Klippers and the Hounds with 32 points.
Record
Heading into tonight’s game against the Melville Millionaires, the Bombers sit with a 12-14-0-0 record in 26 games.
The Bombers sit with 67 goals so far this season – just one more than how many have made it past goaltenders Devin Buffalo and Simon Hofley.
Flin Flon has the SJHL’s third-best goals-against record.
The Yorkton Terriers, of the Viterra Division, take first place with just 56 goals against while second place goes to both the Humboldt Broncos and the Kindersley Klippers, of the Kramer Division.
The Ice Wolves and North Stars were tied for the most amount of goals against as both teams sat with 90.
Flin Flon’s 67 goals for saw them tied with the Weyburn Red Wings and the Estevan Bruins, for last place.
The Millionaires are the league’s most offensively potent team with 90 goals.
The Bombers will host the Melville Millionaires tonight before welcoming the Estevan Bruins tomorrow night.
