The Flin Flon Bombers have finally won on the road, earning a 5-3 victory over Kindersley after a huge third period comeback.

Tuesday night's game got off to a bad start for Flin Flon, with the Klippers getting three straight goals from Devon Cyr, Tate Page and Tanner Thompson in the first period. The tide began to shift in the second, when Nick Shumlanski got the Bombers on the board and brought the game to 3-1.

The third period started with a bang for the Bombers, with Nate Hooper scoring two power play goals in the first three minutes of the period to tie the game up. Ethan Daniels added a goal shortly after Hooper tied the game, giving Flin Flon a lead they would not reliquish.

Shumlanski added his second goal and fourth point of the game as insurance late in the game.

Brenden Newton got the win for Flin Flon in goal, making 26 saves - his Kindersley counterpart Justen Close made 39 stops in the loss. Newton, who has missed much of the past two months with injuries, got his first win since Oct. 6.

Tuesday's win snaps a six-game losing streak for the Bombers in their last game before the holiday break. Perhaps more importantly, it is Flin Flon's first road win after losing their last 12 games away from the Whitney Forum. The Bombers only had one away win on the season before Tuesday, a 4-2 over La Ronge back on Sept. 16.

The Bombers iced midget call-ups Tristan Weigel and Owen Ozar in the win - Ozar earned his first SJHL point, an assist, on Daniels' game-winner. Regulars Daylan Marchi, Tyler Nyman and Mike Wong did not play, as well as Chrystopher Collin, who will rejoin the Bombers after the holiday break.

With the holiday break now in effect, the Bombers will return to action on Dec. 30 and 31 in a home-and-home series against arch rivals La Ronge. The Whitney Forum will host the Dec. 30 game, with both teams heading to La Ronge for the second. The Bombers will follow that with five of their next six games at home in the new year.
