Flin Flon Bombers forward Mike Wong will be wearing Humboldt Broncos’ colours next season.

The Bombers dealt Wong to the Broncos on June 25 in exchange for forward Jessie Young.

Wong is a 19-year-old forward who joined the Bombers last season after spending time at Calgary’s Edge School Prep hockey academy. Despite splitting time between the press box and the ice early in the season and battling injury late in the year, Wong still tallied eight points in 26 games and played in five playoff games for Flin Flon.

Newcomer Young played last season with the Weyburn Red Wings, scoring 19 points in 48 regular season games. The Broncos selected Young in the dispersal draft for the team on June 12. Originally from Port Coquitlam, BC, Young is listed at 5’11’’, 165 pounds and will turn 19 shortly before the 2018-19 season begins. Before heading to Saskatchewan, Young played two seasons of midget hockey with the Vancouver NE Chiefs, racking up 47 points in 75 games.
