Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Double-header wins in Kindersley before the Christmas break have put the Flin Flon Bombers in second place in the SJHL. Sitting with 46 points going into their game this weekend against the La Ronge Ice Wolves, the Bombers hold second with tough competition hot on their trail. The Yorkton Terriers, of the Sherwood Conference claim first place in the SJHL with 51 points. The Notre Dame Hounds pick up second in the same conference, and third in the league, with 45 points. In the North/Bauer Conference, the Bombers lead with 46 and are ahead of the Humboldt Broncos by two. Also sitting with 44 points are the Melville Millionaires of the Sherwood Conference. Seven points divide the first and fifth place team. The Bombers are on the road tonight, in La Ronge, in hopes of adding another win to their 23-13 record. La Ronge sat fifth in the Bombers' conference with 29 points and a 12-19-1-2 record. Rest Following tonight's road game, Flin Flon will take a week-long rest as they look to host the Weyburn Red Wings next Saturday and the Nipawin Hawks the following Tuesday. A double-header against the Humboldt Broncos later this month should be an interesting rival game. With only two months left of the regular season, the Bombers will split the games with nine road games _ including tonight _ and nine games at the Whitney Forum. The 2012-13 regular season has the Bombers playing the Melfort Mustangs on February 26 for their last game. The race continues for the top spot heading into the playoffs.
