Starting off 2010 a little rough with four straight losses, the Flin Flon Bombers rebounded with a four-game Southern swing where they earned themselves six points. Coming home, the Bombers hosted the Melfort Mustangs in what would be a 5-1 victory in a very physical game. This past weekend, the Maroon and White hosted the Yorkton Terriers in a double header to end out the month. Going into Friday's game, the Bombers were tied with the Notre Dame Hounds for 65 points Ð leaving the Bombers in first place in the Bauer Conference and the Hounds in second place in the Sherwood. Three points ahead, the Weyburn Red Wings claimed first place in both the Sherwood and the SJHL. The Terriers sat with 44 points, which was good for fifth place in Sherwood. February February is another busy month for the Bombers as it's the end of the regular season. Hosting five games, the Bombers are on the road for another four. The month gets started at the Whitney Forum tomorrow night as the Humboldt Broncos are in town. This weekend, the Bombers are in the Melfort on Friday and then hit the road to Humboldt the next night. Coming back to town, the Bombers are hosting the Nipawin Hawks during the week before taking on the North Stars in a double header weekend. Then it's back on the road for the Maroon and White as they are in La Ronge the following weekend before hosting their last game of the regular season Ð against the Melfort Mustangs. Playoffs are scheduled to start on February 26, although nothing has been released yet. As of this past Thursday, the Bombers biggest challengers for the upcoming month are going to be the Battlefords North Stars, who sat with 57 points in second place of the Bauer Conference. Another challenger, as of now, is going to be the La Ronge Ice Wolves, who sit one place below the North Stars and with 56 points.
