Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Bombers are on a six-game winning streak following weekend action against the Kindersley Klippers. With a perfect season to date, the Bombers continue to lead the North Conference (formerly the Bauer Conference) as well as the SJHL. Head coach and GM Mike Reagan told The Reminder before the weekend series that the team wasn't putting too much stock into the perfect season just yet. 'I just don't want people to get their expectations too high this early on in the season,' said Reagan. Nonetheless, the team picked up their fifth and sixth straight wins over the weekend _ sending fans at the Whitney Forum into a cheering frenzy. Friday night. the Bombers downed the Klippers 4-1 and continued the momentum with Saturday's 5-4 victory. More than 1,400 people were cheering on the Bombers between the two games. Friday night, the Bombers came out strong with 44 shots on Klippers goaltender Tyrell King while Flin Flon's Devin Buffalo had 21 shots come his way. Kindersley started the scoring against the Maroon and White with a marker at 7:50 of the opening period, but Brett Boehm tied the game with a big goal at 19:37. Landon Hiebert broke the tie for the Bombers in the second period at 1:07 _ giving his team the lead for the first time. Hiebert's goal was the lone marker in the second period, but the Bombers picked up two more in the third _ the first coming at the 19-second mark from Storzuk and the second a power play goal from Cam Blair at the 10-minute mark. The Bombers picked up their first victory of the weekend with a 4-1 win over the visitors. The next night the Klippers heard all about it as they returned to the Whitney Forum for their second match of the weekend. Konrad Litke picked up the first goal of the game at 5:20, followed by Storzuk's marker at 13:49 of the same period. Down 2-0 the Klippers found their way on the board with a goal past second Bomber goalie Brandon Wildung at 15:25. Boehm was on target to start the second period as his goal at :19 made it 3-1 Flin Flon. Just as fans settled their cheering, Blair earned his second of the weekend to make it 4-1 for the Maroon and White at :53. Flin Flon picked up their fifth and final goal of the night at 15:01 before the Klippers picked up three more goals to call it a night. The Bombers defeated the visitors 5-4, but were outshot 43-37. Following Saturday's game, the Bombers went on an extended break. Their next game comes tonight when they play host to the Battlefords North Stars.
