The Bombers have loaded up once again, picking up another northern Manitoba talent with WHL experience.

Flin Flon has picked up forward Carter Anderson, most recently a member of the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders. Anderson's acquisition was announced by the team and the league Oct. 12.

Anderson hails from Thompson and played for northern Manitoba regional teams growing up, including the Norman Wolves U15 AAA team - there, he played with current Bombers Justin Lies and Cheechoo Lathlin. In 2018, Anderson went to Winnipeg to play with the Rink Hockey Academy program, where he would also play a season with Bomber forward Riley Niven.

From there, Anderson moved on to play parts of four seasons in the WHL with the Red Deer Rebels and the Prince Albert Raiders, playing 142 games and racking up 35 points, including a 22-point season last year split between the two teams.

Anderson's addition gives the Bombers a total of five northern Manitoba-born players, each of whom regularly plays. Anderson joins both Joey and Justin Lies from Flin Flon, Lathlin from Opaskwayak Cree Nation and Ashton Paul from The Pas.

The last time the Bombers had five northern-born players on the team who played more than 40 games was 1996-97 - Thompson-born Ed Wood and Flin Flonners Warren Ayers, Dwayne Meikle, David Scully and current Bomber head coach and general manager Mike Reagan. Fellow northerners Clayton Quinn and Everett Pachal also played for the Bombers that year.

During the Bombers' 1992/93 championship season, the Bombers had six northern Manitoba players - Rob Beck, Clarke Funk, Shane Hayes, Darren and Karl Johnson and Wally Spence.

The acquisition of Anderson brings the Bombers to 26 players on roster - two goalies, eight defencemen and 16 forwards.
