Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Returning to the Bomber lineup for his third season, David Roper will wear the sought-after "C" on his sweater. "He's been here for three years, he knows how I operate," said head coach and GM Mike Reagan, "and he's a well-liked guy. "He competes hard every night and he competes hard in practice." Reagan says Roper's fairness to everyone on the team, as well as his willingness to respect the rookies, helped make him a suitable selection for captain. "He respects this organization and that's important in a captain," said Reagan. "He knows how much history is here and what this team means to the community." Speaking highly of the blueliner, Reagan said he "is just a good young man that will be able to lead our young team." The Bombers announced returning Bomber Cam Blair as an assistant captain, but have yet to name the other two. Roper will lead the Bombers on the ice Friday night as the Maroon and White host the Melfort Mustangs in their regular season home opener.9/14/2011
